Color Club Abtract Skittlette Nail Art

Hey varnished vixens,

Today I thought I'd do a super simple mani as well as a little ode to a lady who always seems to have just the right knack of creating simple elegant nail art - Martha of Chit Chat Nails.  She also happens to be the queen of skittlelets.  So while thinking of how to execute a elegant and simple look I thought I'd take a nod at her style and go for the skittle mani.

Color Club Edie and Celebrity Sparkle are the main players here.  I honestly have to say I should have used Edie sooner because it is so vibrant and the formula is fantastic! Edie is a crelly that goes on smooth like butter and is opaque in 3 coats.  If you don't go for the third coat you will wind up with VNL (visible nail line) which I dislike intensely.  Celebrity Sparkle is actually a polish I won during a Color Club giveaway on Instagram for the SXSW (Southwest Southwest) Collection.  It's intense and dries matte. Pictured here in 2 coats the glitter is really intense, but I prefer the shiny finish to the matte so I was generous with topcoat here.

So what do you think? Martha is definitely onto something with her skittlelets.  I love how this was so simple, but so pretty as well! I'm going to try doing a few more of these in the future.  The nail art was accomplished with the aide of my Sugar Bubbles plates.  They are as always flawless and spectacular.  If you are interested in them you can find them here.  Color Cub polishes can be purchased online or at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and other beauty supply stores.  Thanks for reading and I'll see you next post...
