Welcome to the start of Halloween season on LLD!! To kick things off I decided to do a super simple stamping with a color intense focus. After all I know not everyone can do the super detailed nail art that I create and sometimes it's nice just to have the color of the season and the feel without over complication. It's been a while since I put up straight up super simple stamping. I'm talking about no gimmicks tricks, advanced technique just plain old stamping. I forgot how awesome it is to do that too, but when the base color is this superlative it's kinda hard to do anything advanced when all you can do is gawk and stare.
Colors by Llarowe Gemini Rising was one of those polish purchases I made that basically came out of nowhere. I went to the site to get 1 polish - Blonde Ambition, but somehow when I saw this one I felt if I didn't get it I would regret it for a VERY long time. When it arrived I knew I made the right decision. Gemini is a pure bright kelly green linear holo. It is absolutely swoon worthy! I just kept staring at the bottle for ages. Then I bused it out after I had what I felt was a fail mani around the theme green. I had been playing with the idea of using this polish but backed out at the last minute because stamping over holos is challenging for me at times. In any event I decided why not use it and just do something super simple? That's how this look came about.
Base: Duri Rejuvacote
Base color: CBL Gemini Rising
Stamping polish: Mundo de Unas Black (2)
Stamping plate: Betina 08
My Betina plates I've had for ages now. They are sadly an underused collection in my stash and I have no idea why. The etching is flawless and the images are cute. I need to break them out more, but when you own hundreds of plates it's a bit hard to give them all equal attention.
I freaking love this! Does anyone else own this polish or other holo's by CBL? Also how to other ladies feel about stamping over holos? Sometimes I get so stressed over it and one reason is because topcoat can really dull the holographic pigment, but stamping without topcoat is almost damn near impossible unless you are going for a one day type of thing. I forgot to mention it earlier but for this nail art I refrained from using topcoat for that express reason. Anyhoo I hope you enjoyed the green holo yumminess. See you next post...
