Elevation Polish Base of Huangshan Neon Triangle Nail Art

Hey lacqueristas,

Yes I am still rocking neons as it doesn't feel even remotely like fall for me yet.  It's hotter than you know what here in the district and regardless of the time of year I can pretty much get away with whatever color I want due to my skintone ;) And I could not resist the secret allure of Elevation Polish Base of Haungshan (BOH) for one second longer! BOH was a small batch prototype from some months ago that I was super lucky to snag.  It's a highlighter yellow so intense it's hard to look directly at it, and since Lulu rarely does neons I knew I had to have it!  It came just in time for me to do some playing as well with some of my never Loja BBF plates.

The thing about BOH is it's was a tricky polish.  In general EPs have flawless formulation.  I never have to play with them too much to get them to work or level out, but BOH is an exception.  It's super sheer and if you have any mistakes in your underlying basecoat it will betray every flaw underneath. Over one coat of Rica Whiteout it still took me 4 coats to reach opacity.  This polish also dries to a shiny matte waxy finish. I didn't use topcoat for any of the photos shown! I have to say 4 coats was a lot but it was utterly worth it when I saw the shocking neon result.   And because this polish was so pretty I wanted to keep the nail art fairly simple.  The triangle pattern you see here is one I've been salivating over for a while.

So what do you think? Is the season of neons over for you? I still have my eye on one collection of neons that I must absolutely have come hell or high water (stubborn lol).  I'm really thrilled at how this came out overall.

Unfortunately BOH isn't a polish that is available for purchase since it was a SPB.  Loja BBF plates can be purchases here.  PS for those that were waiting most of the BBF plates have restocked at this time so get 'em while they're hot! I hoped you liked this continued tastes of summer and I'll see you next post...
