Welcome to Day 7 of my the MoYou London nail art challenge! I'm hitting my stride now after all anything I can do for a week daily will start to feel like habit making it a bit easier to churn out the product (so to speak). The theme for this challenge was red. I actually prefer it when the themes are broad like this instead of narrowed down because it allows my creativity to breath. A challenge like London is tough because no matter what I need to pull elements from that city and culture into the design, but something like a color has so many interpretations. Red for passion, rage, blood, prosperity/luck (yup), etc. I could interpret this color in 1000 ways and all of them would be correct. So I just decided to stamp on whatever base I wanted using elements of the color red with a fun hip-hop inspired design.
Mani-louge
Basecoat/Topcoat: CND Stickey / Sally Hansen Diamond Flash
Base color: Orly Satin Satin Reflection and Ethereal Lacquer Claire de Lune
Stamping polish: Konad Special Polish in Red and Yellow, Mundo de Unas #2
Stamping plates: MoYou London Roxy 01 and 05
Claire de Lune was actually from the April Indie-Go-Box. I was so pulled into the colors that came with this set that I couldn't dare pass on the box. Claire de Lune is my first Ethereal Lacquer though I will say I have been stalking her brand from afar for a while. One thing about indies is that there are a plethora of them and it's tough to choose those that are unique but also creative. I do feel Ethereal Lacquer falls into this category, but I always seem to miss the restocks. In any case CdL is a shimmering silver based holographic topper packed with blue glass flecks. I love it. It's soft and romantic and the holo was so powerful I couldn't stop angling my nails in the sun for better looks.
Thoughts? I'm really happy with how these nails turned out. I need a few more challenges with such broad parameters and I'll be a happy lady! In any case thanks so much for sticking with me through this challenge! I can't believe I made it as far as day 7 already. I know I'm behind on the posts, but I suspected this would happen since I really have to crank them out for IG and not for posts initially. Thanks for reading and see you next post...
