Hey stamperistas,
Welcome to my version of the sea ;) The coral is neon and the sea life blooms in shades of pastel. Its pretty and whimsical and just really damn fun! I can't even tell you where I got the idea for this mani because it all started with the basecoat. I just wanted to create a jelly sandwich. Initially I had been thinking of doing something sheer and dramatic then I decided to take my Leadlight Lacquer plates for a cruise again (you can read the review here) and the rest as they say is history. For those that are like, "What happened to your lovely square shaped nails?" and don't follow me on Instagram - the short version is I had two devastating breaks in as many days and decided to try out some tips and a different shape.

Elevation Polish Weddell Sea & Messy Mansion Koi Nail Art
Lazy Sunday lacqueristas,
When I received the Elevation Polish Sea Collection Weddell Sea was one of those polishes that stumped me. Super pretty whitish gray holo with a shimmer in the base. I could not capture it's elegance and its beauty. You can see what I did with it previously here. When I tried to do nail art for it I failed over and over. This was one of the fails. I called it a fail because I felt when I looked at what I created I'd overwhelmed the base color. Then instead of going with it I stopped halfway deciding not to fill up my somewhat empty canvas. Looking back on it now though I think it's kind of pretty (lol clearly biased and delusional).
Seriously super lazy Sunday for me. I'm exhausted since I've definitely been trying to do too much for work and school and the blog. It all hit me today when I tried to tackle 2 challenges and realized it wasn't gonna happen. I could do one or the other not both and still have time to study. Ah such is life. So I thought I'd show you a manicure from months ago. Lol all of my Sunday posts have been like this lately ;)

I created this mani using all the polishes from the Sea Collection so all the blues and greens you see swept haphazardly across Weddell are from that collection as well. To fill in the fish I used Silversword. I don't think this polish gets nearly enough play. It's still insanely stunning to me months and months later. What shocked me the most when I was going back through my archives is that I have a TON of EP nail art that I haven't shown. I'll have to amend that ;)

Basecoat/Topcoat: Duri Rejuvacote / Sally Hansen Diamond Flash
Basecolor: Elevation Polish Weddell Sea

So what do you think? Sometimes fails are fun too because they can really teach you things to not do in the future. This can be related specifically to a plate or a design. Lol I just had a fail earlier this week. It made me so mad I had to take it off immediately and create a new mani stat. Unfortunately Weddell Sea is sold out at the moment on Elevation Polish, but it will likely be back on the 7th of September if you want to pick it up. Thanks for reading and I'll see you next post....

Elevation Polish Summit Collection #2 Swatches & Nail Art
Hey lacquer ladies,
Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend! Today I've got swatches and nail art for the soon to be released Elevation Polish Summit Collection Part Deaux, As usual I'm thrilled again this month to be able to share these glorious polishes with you. I think you'll find the 2nd part of the Summit Collection to have a denser earthier feel than the first. You can check out swatches here to compare. For this collection there's something for everyone neutral holos, soft crellies, intense shimmers, and bright glitter toppers. So let's get started!
Elberus 2
A deep red leaning plum shimmer polish. Dark for the vampy lovers in us all. A bit of a palate cleanser in the brights of the summer spring season. For me this one was a hidden gem. The formula was thicker than I expected and like butter leveling out perfectly in 2 coats. I feel myself smacking my lips over this one lolol. Like I said hidden gem.
Kosciuszko (Kozy)
Super pretty hot pink matte glitter topper in a shimmering base. Essentially the prettiest girliest type of glitter topper you can imagine which is also perfect for the spring and Mother's Day. I struggled with this one though. The neon pink/red nature of the glitter freaked my camera out too much. I tried to compensate by pairing another pink to adjust the color too. Somehow I'm not sure if I was able to capture how beautiful this polish really is.

Everest 2
A flattering deep taupe holographic. This particular holo is not the super strong linears we've seen coming out of the EP kitchen. This one is softer and subtle causing the polish to seem extremely delicate despite the deepness of the taupe. In short I love it! I was so hard pressed not to overwhelm the base that I decided to do a very simple and clean nail art for this one. Of note this pretty shade is basically a ONE coater, and you ladies know how I feel about that ;)
Mount McKinley
A lavender crelly that unless I missed my mark is going to be universally flattering on most if not all skin tones! Opaque in 2 coats with a flawless flawless formulation. When I think about this polish it reminds me of why I fell so hard for the EP brand long ago! This is such a gorgeous shade I paired with with the usual smorgasbord of EP shades in pastel shades to let it's delicacy play out against and abstract foreground.
What do you ladies think? Lol honestly I know these posts can be overwhelming. There is a lot of art and polish and swatches all happening. Take a second to take it all in and then tell me if you have any favorites in the comments below. Probably of the bunch my favorite is Elberus 2 and Everest 2 lol. I guess I like the second editions though honestly they all are spectacular! These polishes and the Summit Collection 1 and 2 in general will be available May 7th at 9pm CST here on Elevation Polish Big Cartel site as well as on the 22nd of May at 9am CST. Polishes retail between $8.50-$12 USD. Btw if you are as big of a fan of Elevation Polish as I am head over to Lulu's blog for more information regarding 2 giveaways this month not including those from Pointless Cafe and Ashley is Polish Addicted. Hope you all enjoyed today's polish offerings! Thanks for reading and see you next post...
