Spring Plaid and Floral Nail Art + Tutorial

Hey stamp champs,

Who's ready for the spring?  I am!  Trying out new colors and new techniques.  You haven't seen me use the "placement" style plates yet though I own many times of these plates.  Mostly I'm just "in the mood to stamp" these days and so this is the result.  Btw I was so ready for spring.  It's still cold here but my nails are already for spring and I feel the ensuing craving for neons that I always have as the thought of the upcoming summer approaches.

KBShimmer Fall 2016 Swatches Part I

Hey lacqueristas,
Press Sample

Time to get back to some Lacquer Lockdown basics! Meaning swatching and reviewing!  I'm backlogged unbelievably, but let's press on in a fashion that allows me to share the the beautiful plates and polishes I've come across as quickly as I can! Today I'm sharing the some of the KBShimmer Fall 2016 Collection.  As usual with Christy Rose her polishes are beautiful, flawless formulations, and enough glitter, holo, and shimmer to make even the plainest of Jane's wish for a little bit of the KBShimmer magic ;)

Fright This Way

Blackened purple jelly polish with holo flecks and deep purple hexagon glitter.  Timely for the Halloween season to say the least!

Hiya lacqueristas,
Press Sample

I'm back with some beautiful polishes to share with you from the latest KBShimmer Spring 2016 Collection!  You all know I love me some KBS polishes particularly the Mega Flames that have released so recently so of course I was thrilled when I was offered a slot to post a few of the polishes from this gorgeous collection.  I also received a mani bomb, a first for me, that I will be trying out later though I'll tell you the smell is divine!

Holographic Sharpie Rainbow Geometric Nail Art + Tutorial

Holo everything!

Lol seriously how many holo mani's have I posted lately?  Am I posting too many - are you getting sick of it? Don't worry I'm getting ready to post a few more of my more complex mani's soon i.e. heavily detailed.  I realized I haven't been trying them of late.  BUT today it's holo rainbows and geometric stamping!  I actually got this idea from looking at a video from Simply Nailogical though I didn't use liquid sharpies it still came out really nicely once I added more alcohol to the scribbles (see tutorial).

Jade Holografico and KBShimmer Wild Roses Nail Art

Salutations varnished vixens,

Happy hump day.  It's been a while since I've done a Sunday stamping challenge mainly because in case you couldn't tell I stamp pretty much all the time. Lol in any case the challenges lately also haven't really gotten me revved up, but a few weeks ago there was a challenge for stamping over a holographic poli8sh.  Since I  love a good holo I couldn't resist this challenge even though I'm a way late.  So today I have some blazingly holographic nails to share with you! PS my new lighting set up is seriously insane with these holographic polishes :)

Thanksgiving KBShimmer Style

Happy Thanksgiving polished prisoners!

Is the stuffing flowing, gravy sensational, and turkey flavorful or are you partaking in the local football game and fun with friends? Lol hopefully you aren't like my good friends on call with only half a shift and bed to look forward to rather than the comforts of good eats! My favorite thing about T day besides the food? Fall weather perfect for frolicking outside oh and of course the nail art ;)

I had so much fun creating this mani! Mainly for two reasons - my KBShimmer Quantum Leaf polish and Bunny Nails HD plates. Quantum Leaf is like fall in a nail polish in a bottle all golden and red and oranges with yellow deliciousness crammed in for good measure.  If you don't have this polish you should!  No excuses it's just brilliant! Get them here and stalk her upcoming creations on Facebook.  Now onto the other amazing part of this mani -  Bunny Nails, girl you are killing me.  Shall I say it again? Bunny Nails girl you are KILLING ME!!! Her plates are awesome awesome awesome and the recently released HD holiday series are breath taking.  Prepare to see more of her stuff around here plus a review on these plates.  If you want to order from her go to her blog here or her ecrater store

Well here we are another fun holiday mani down.  Thoughts, ideas, gushing compliments ;) ? Stay tuned for some upcoming things on this blog including the seven days of Crowstoes Christmas featuring the new holiday collection polishes! I'm excited about this one! Ok I'm off to enjoy some macaroni and cheese and Cajun style turkey (yeah my family is awesome) and after I've glutted myself I will be watching the Redskins tear the Dallas Cowboys apart  - ugh I wish I had tickets to this game!  Thanks so much for reading and happy Thanksgiving to all my readers where ever you may be.  Oh and before I forget today I am most most thankful for the gift of life something that I was so close to losing only a scant 4 months ago!  I have a lot to be appreciative for this year! Thanks again and see you next post :)

Appealing Oranges...

Hey polished prisoners,

I love a good orange and today I've got a gorgeous little glistening glitterbomb for you from none other than one of my fav indie polish makers - KBShimmer!  This one is a real beauty too!  Orange-A-Peel is a bright neon orange polish, part of a six piece summer neon set, packed with various sized orange, pink, and white hex and white bar glitters.  In a word OAP is DENSE as glitterbombs tend to be.  That said the formula is smooth like butter and easy to apply with no need for fishing for pieces of glitter.

Isn't this just such a fun bright nami? And look at all the pink glitters in OAP!

I layered this over Essie's Marshmallow to make the neon even MORE neon.  You do need to wait about 5 mins in between coats otherwise the polish drags.  I also did a little colorblocking using Essie's Lights and Action and finally added some microbeads and tiny little hot pink butterflies to the mix.

This is three layers of Orange-A-Peel pictured here.

I am not at all happy with how the microbeads turned out - I accidentally knocked my hand before the topcoat set and they moved (boo!).  I still thinks it's cute-ish though...

It's super bright in this pic! Lol!

So here we have it yet another indie brand that I love.  And yes, I know I really darn well need to get my haul posts done (cringe).  I keep popping up out of nowhere with these polishes, but I just can't help myself when so many unique brands keep appearing these days!

Indies come to me!

Are you dying of laughter over my Rick James photo with an orange halo of light surrounding his beckoning form? No? Coldblooded...Do you at least feel overcome with lust to acquire this pretty baby?  I know I was when I saw the swatches put up by Amy from Nailventurous. Well good news! Though KBShimmer polishes used to be pretty hard to come by these days you can access her entire collection with ease here on her storefront.  She also has an Etsy where limited editions are listed from time to time.  Speaking of LE's it just so happens our little miss will be giving away 5 of them that she made as part of a rainbow polish making challenge. The contest ends this Friday and you can enter to win here.  Here's hoping to scooping up a new pretty to play with! Thanks so much for reading and I'll see you next time. Toodles...
