MoYou London 31 Day Nail Art Challenge: Day 4 Fantasy

Hey lacqueristas,

As I said Day 4 of this nail art challenge is delayed.  I was able to get my post up to Instagram in time for the deadline, but the post had to wait until I finished my Elevation Polish post which I had been working on for some time.  I'm dreading the challenge for Day 5 which is shadows.  Let me take a moment to ask how does one interpret this theme?  Ugh I'm a scientist not an artist damnit (lol you may be inclined to disagree but it's true).  Alas...in any case let's get onto the day 4.

Lacquer Lockdown - MoYou London, MoYou London Fairytale Collection, MoYou London Fairytale 01, MoYou London Fairytale 05, Mundo de Unas stamping polish, Pahlish Your Bright Shadow, stamping, nail art, diy yourself nail art, cute nail art ideas, easy nail art ideas, fairies, butterflies, 31 day nail art challenge

The theme this time was Fantasy.  Woot right up my alley!  So glad I went ahead and bought a few of the Fairytale Collection plates.  The truth is I wanted them all immediately, but I had to pull back a little and be sensible about buying up ALL the plates.  Plus I have to keep a little back for my other plate addictions.  Because MoYou releases plates every week I just compile a never ending ever growing wishlist.  Lol.  In any case I decided to break out the Fairy plates and create some art.

Basecoat/Topcoat: Glitter A-Peel / Sally Hansen Diamond Flash
Base color: Pahlish Your Bright Shadow
Topper: IMN Northern Lights in Gold
Stamping polish: Mundo de Unas # 33
Stamping plates: Fairytale Collection Plate 01 and 05

I chose Pahlish Your Bright Shadow because I have been staring at this polish since I ordered it along with the Elevation Polish duo.  The truth is I've been a long time fan of this brand.  Her polishes are gorgeous, and this one is no exception!  Creating this design was all about the lady in the dress, but the dress didn't fit completely on my nails however what did was stunning.  I'm a bit disappointed with my ring finger.  For some reason the fairy on the mushroom ended up looking a little flat.  If I'd had the proper time I would have gone ahead and redone it, but this goes to show you how exacting I am about my nail art.  If the vision falls short I redo it until I'm 100% satisfied. Honesty I have a feeling I will repeat this manicure at some point.

So what do you think? Did anyone else do nails for this challenge? Alright thanks for reading and stay tuned for the 5th installment.  Thanks for reading and see you next post...

Hey stamperellas,

I've got Day 2 of the MoYou London nail art challenge for you today!  This time I was able to actually sit down and create with a plan as opposed to my mad dash for the 1st challenge. You can check out my original post here.  In any case the theme for this challenge was nature.  I kept it relatively simple sticking with florals and birds and then let my polishes and stamping do all the talking for me ;)

The base colors I chose for this are so my heart! I was able to snag the April LE duo from Elevation Polish and Pahlish - Romance/Bromance.  I love love love these polishes.  They will definitely get a solo feature at some point because they deserve it, but as with any EP or Pahlish shade I pick up the application and beauty of these polishes was beyond compare! So much so that I felt bad covering them up with stamping, but I believe a beautiful base is the start to great nail art!

What does everyone think? Not bad for day 2 eh! I'm still feeling a little at a loss as to how I'm going to keep going for 29 more mani's, but I'll just be taking it one day at a time!  I hope you all are enjoying the journey.  Thanks so much for reading and see you next post...

My Boy Toy Did It...On Sundays I Stamp!

Hiya polished prisoners,

Another sweet sweet Sunday is upon us and lord I'm tired!  This has been a week that never ends just one thing after another.  I'm very much looking forward to the holidays when I can get a bit of breathing room.  In any event it's Sunday and around these parts though inconsistent it means it's time for an Adventure in Stamping.  This weeks theme is what my nails would look like if my boyfriend/hubby did it.  Let me tell you now I am a single lady, but luckily I have a crap ton of guy friends who can come to the rescue (yeah I'm one of those girls).  So this one was sort of picked out/idea given to me by my little friend Ian.  He's six years old, enjoys painting, digging up dirt to build bug houses, playing with dinosaurs, and teasing me mercilessly.  He also likes playing with my nails.  He's my little old man and a great kid and this mani incorporating many of the things he loves is for him!

Lacquer Lockdown - Girly Bits Banana Hammock, Apipila 02, Vivid Lacquer, VL002, stamping, confetti wedding white, spattler nails, essie leading lady, frog nail art, dinosaur nail art, snail nail art, adventures in stamping

Base & Topcoat: CND Stickey and Poshe Fast Drying Top Coat
Base Color: Girly Bit's Banana Hammock and Confetti Wedding White
Splatters: Essie Leading Lady, Pahlish End of Days, OPI Big Apple Red, Orly Lemon Sorbet, Sally Hansen Pat on Black, and Confetti Blue
Stamping Plates: Vivid Lacquer 002 and Apipila 02
Stamping Polish: No Name Green Striper and Konad Special Polish in Black & Purple

So this is my first time using polishes by Girly Bits.  I had been lusting after them for quite some time got a few a while ago but never got around to using them.  Well let's face it my untrieds pile is massive so it's hardly surprising.  I will say Banana Hammock more than lived up to the reputation of Pam's polishes.  I love the freaking blue sheen on top of this yellow! So gorgeous and added an extra depth to the nail art,  I can't wait to try my others.

So what do you think?  Cute eh?  I couldn't create something super messy because it would have driven me crazy but I think I captured the essence of Ian pretty well and what he'd like to see on my nails.  I'm not a huge fan of bugs and the like but I love dino's and froggies and such especially when it's just a pretty stamp hehe.  I'll have to show him tomorrow and see what he thinks.  Anyway thanks so much for reading and I'll see you next post! Toodles...

Pahlish: End Of Days

Hey polished prisoners!

It's a rare Monday posting ;)  Today I'm sharing one of my penultimate indie brands with you.  Honestly, I am seriously considering doing an indie top ten posting but I wonder if there would be any interest in this? Do let me know.  In any case Shannon the maker behind the brand Pahlish is absolutely one of my favorite indie companies.  I have ordered from her almost religiously perhaps a touch fanatically.  The minute she releases a new color I go into high alert.  I must have it or die trying!!  There are probably only about three other brands that I'm as fanatical about, but let's save that for later.  For now let's get to the polish...

The base colors here are China Glaze Harvest Moon and Sally Hansen Haute Chocolate.
What can I say about End of Days?  The name alone leaves me slightly drooling.  Then I take a look at it - a deliciously packed glitterbomb of orange and blue hexes with gold microglitter in a clear base.  I think by now you know how much I love orange so this one just kills me!  In a word everything about End of Days is sexy.  On a side note, I clearly can hear the voice of Dale Gribble aka Rusty Shackleford from King of the Hill screaming out "It's the end of days!" Lol!

Isn't this such a pretty baby? You like it don't you? Well luckily for you Shannon just restocked; she usually does every Friday in any case.  You can get your little paws on this baby for $9 + s/h.  Try to hold back because almost everything else is in stock too.  Ugh! You can find her store on Etsy and you can also keep track of her latest updates via her Facebook.  Welp thanks for reading and I'll see you next post! Toodles...
