MoYou London Tropical Overlapping Nail Art + Tutorial!

Hey stamperistas

I've been wanting to try these overlapping plates from MoYou London out for a while now.  In fact I purchased two of them as soon as they released, but I just didn't have a chance to pick them up and break them out until recently.  They've been sitting at my bedside just staring at me begging to be used so I decided to put them to good use and I'm totally pleased with how fun and tropical this mani came out :)

Valentine's Day 2016: Nails Nude Lace Nail Art + Tutorial

Hey lacquer ladies,

So apparently its something called Super Bowl Sunday today, but since neither team is a team I give a cent about I'm off to other adventures. Namely trying to get over my nail fail slump.  I have tried so many mani's lately in pursuit of my Valentine's Day spirit and a lot of them have gone belly up.  The most I've gotten out of it were some beautiful swatches.  I'll take that, but seriously I'm so dissapointed that my last 3 mani's have been absolute fails.  So today I decided let's stick to simple and simple in this case means nude and lace.

We love the things that we love for what they are. ~ Robert Frost

Christmas 2015: Holographic Snowflakes and Candy Cane Swirls + Tutorial

Hey stamp champs,

As ever every year I don't get to do nearly enough Christmas nail art.  I wanted to do so much more this season and look its already the 22th! Gah!  This might be the most productive I've been over the christmas season.  Lots of tutorials - I've shot more than I've released so hopefully I'll be able to get a few more up before the holiday season ends.  However today I'm doing another MoYou London nail art using their Festive plates this time.  Honestly Festive 03 gets a heavy workout from me every season - namely because the patterns on this plate are so freaking classic!  That swirl for the candy cane gets me every time however todays mani is definitely not the classic mint twist you might be expecting.  Please definitely tell me what you think in this alternative take in the comments below!

Welcome to Movember! Nail Art + Quickie Tutorial

Hey stamperistas,

Late night nail art today for the month of Movember! Cutie mustaches and lots of pale blue for men's health issues.  I find this slightly amusing because when I think of male health issues the first thing that comes to mind is prostatic cancer which has absolutely nothing to do with mustaches.  Weird. Anyway I'm really pleased with how this nail art ended up coming out.  I don't really have a particular men's health issue to get behind, but I do think all the mustaches that float around this time of year are adorable :)

Ho ho ho stamp champs,

Merry Christmas for those of you that celebrate and happy holidays to the rest!  I'm keeping in short and sweet today I just wanted to show off my Christmas Day nail art! Another complex one full of layerings upon layerings and loads of advanced stamping.  Not easy nor for the faint of heart but I'm loving how it turned out!

DRK Nails Cool Tone Abstract Nail Art

Hey varnished vixens,

God I can't stand all this heat! Yesterday it was well into the high nineties here in the District and honestly I wanted to melt.  So today I thought I'd cool down with a little blue tinged neutral nail art and of course as promised I wanted to take my new DRK Nails plates out for a spin.  If you didn't see it I posted a review of the 2 Designer Series plates yesterday (read here).  My impression of these plates is that they are gorgeous and affordable with some of the best etching I've seen to date.  Of course this meant I couldn't wait to play.

Lacquer Lockdown - DRK Nails, DRK Designer Series 1, DRK Nails Designer Series 2, nail art stamping blog, nail art stamping, decal nail art stamping, advanced stamping, cute nail art ideas, abstract mail art, cute summer nail art, summer nail art, diy nail art, stamping, nail art stamping, Zoya Taylor, Essie Find Me An Oasis, Essie Bikini So Teeny, Essie Fashion Playground, Color Club Age of Aquarius, Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac, abstract nails, DRK,

Accent colors: Zoya Darcy, Essie Bikini So Teeny, Fashion Playground, and Find Me An Oasis, Color Club Age of Aquarius, Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac
Stamping polish: Mundo de Unas #3
Stamping plates: DRK Nails Designer Series D1 & D2

I love nudes - polish, lipsticks, and shoes! They are so flattering and they work with everything under the sun.  Because I chose Zoya Taylor as the base every other color popped by comparison.  And as I said before the detailing on these Designer plates is truly exquisite.  You can go through a lot of the manicures I've created on this blog and Instagram but you won't find anything like this!  I can't stop staring at my nails.  The pattern that's featured the most is from the DRK DS 2 plate while the accent is from the DRK DS 1 plate.

So what do you think?  I really adore how this turned out as you can tell! I only wished it was as cool outdoors as the color palette is for this mani lol.  If you're interested in purchasing the DRK Nails Designer series you can find them here for $6.50 per plate plus minimal shipping.  You can also follow DRK Nails on Facebook for updates on newly releasing plates.  Yes that's right there are whispers of new XL plates coming out soon and hopefully we'll also see an expansion of this series! I hope you enjoyed the art and I'll see you next post....

Summer Leopard Gradient Nail Art feat Marianne Nails Stamping Plates

Hey lacqueristas,

It feels like it's been way too long since I've posted any nail art! In the meantime I have been firing off post after post of stamping plates that have been releasing one after the other like a mad woman!  I can think of at least 3 big brands that will have new releases coming in the next 2 weeks and there are still more and more out there! Insanity right?  In any case after posting my review for the Marianne Nails plates, you can read that here, I have been itching to take some of my plates out for a test drive!  So that's what today is all about...

Lacquer Lockdown - Marianne Nails, MN13, leopard print, nail art stamping blog, Zoya Thandie, Zoya Cole, Essie Geranium, gradient nail art, summer nail art, cute nail art ideas, diy nail art, summer nail art ideas, Mundo de Unas #1, mundo de unas stamping polish, nail art stamping blog, nail art stamping, studded nail art,

Basecoat / Topcoat: Duri Rejuvacote / Poshe Fast Drying Topcoat / Essie Matte About You
Gradient: Zoya Cole and Thandie and Essie Geranium
Stamping polish: Mundo de Unas # 1
Stamping plate: Marianne Nails MN13
Accents: 3mm nail art studs from Born Pretty

Lacquer Lockdown - Marianne Nails, MN13, leopard print, nail art stamping blog, Zoya Thandie, Zoya Cole, Essie Geranium, gradient nail art, summer nail art, cute nail art ideas, diy nail art, summer nail art ideas, Mundo de Unas #1, mundo de unas stamping polish, nail art stamping blog, nail art stamping, studded nail art,

I took one of the most basic plates of the many I purchased from Marianne Nails and created magic using a technique that I always fall back on for beautiful simplicity - gradients.  I love how a gradient can transform simple nail art into something complex, and of course you know I love leopard print.

Lacquer Lockdown - Marianne Nails, MN13, leopard print, nail art stamping blog, Zoya Thandie, Zoya Cole, Essie Geranium, gradient nail art, summer nail art, cute nail art ideas, diy nail art, summer nail art ideas, Mundo de Unas #1, mundo de unas stamping polish, nail art stamping blog, nail art stamping, tribal nail art

The only thing that could make this better is if I played around with the tribal patterns on the same plate. Ahem and of course I did which means I created essentially 2 different manicures just by changing the accent nail. I'm a little mad because right as I was getting ready to take the picture I banged the tip of my accent nail.  Sigh...

What do you think?  I love how this turned out especially the matte formulation! I also got a lot of compliments on this mani particularly the variation with the studs.  You'll be seeing a lot more nail art on the blog using my new Marianne Nails plates, but if you are interested in purchasing these you can find them here for 6.50 Euros.  It's good to be back to stamping it's been way too long even though it's only been a week or so.  Thanks so much for reading and see you next post...

4th of July Nail Art #2 - Bundle Monster Stars and Stripes

Hey lacquer ladies,

I know it's rare for me to put up back to back nail art posts, but I managed to squeeze out one more manicure for the 4th of July holiday.  This one was a touch more intricate than the last while still remaining relatively simple.  It's been a while since I broke out my Bundle Monster plates so I decided to finally put my Holiday Collection set to good use.

Lacquer Lockdown - Zoya Carter, Zoya Godiva, Zoya Blaze, Rica Whiteout, bundle monster, HD25, 4th of July Nail Art, star rhinestones, funky french tips, flag nail art, patriotic nail art, independence day nail art, nail art stamping blog, nail art stamping, nail stamping, diy nail art, cute nail art ideas

I chose to accent the french tip using patriotic colored star rhinestones and I think it turned out well.  I kept looking at the pinkie, but thinking hmm I just want to let Blaze sparkle.  Honestly I do not spend enough time using my Zoya polishes so every time I pick one up I'm blown away but the finish and the quality of these polishes.

What do you think? For a simple 4th of July mani I think this came out well especially as I have been really pressed for time these days.  I hope everyone is having a happy Friday and 4th for those who celebrate it.  Thanks for reading and I'll see you next post...

MoYou London 31 Day Nail Art Challenge: Day 17 Fun

Hey stamparistas,

Welcome to day 17 and a bundle of fun!  I was so happy about this theme because it was almost what I call a fill in the blank, meaning I could choose any answer to the question I wanted and would likely still be right.  I chose to do a tribal themed mani for this challenge since you know I love a good tribal.  In addition, I find playing around with my colors and lining up the pieces to create a cohesive whole loads of fun.  I want to tribal the world, but for now let's start with the nails..

Lacquer Lockdown - zoya nail polish, zoya rue, zoya blu, nail art stamping blog, moyou london, moyou london explorer collection, explorer 11, stamping, nail art, cute nail art ideas, advanced stamping method, dream catcher nail art, mudo de unas 20, mundo de unas stamping polish, cute nail art ideas, diy nail art, cute nail art ideas, new nail art ideas, tribal nail art,

I chose Zoya Rue and Blu because I wanted a very neutral palate to create the tribals and then add a very cool tone to make the accents pop.  Blu is one of those ultra light ultra soft blue polishes that is essentially a neutral color of it's own.  I love it and as usual with my Zoya's the formula was flawless. One thing I love about nail art is you can take a polish that is miles away from where you are when you finish.  For instance before I added my stamping this mani was so soft.

Mani-louge
Basecoat/Topcoat: CND Stickey / Poshe Fast Drying Topcoat
Base colors: Zoya Rue and Blu
Stamping polish: Mundo de Unas #20
Stamping plates: MoYou London Explorer Collection 11

When I started this look I knew I didn't want to just do tribal prints but to add another element.  Immediately I thought of dream catchers.  They are wildly popular nail art mani's these days and I knew I had some cute ones on my plate which is how I picked Explorer 11.  Again of all the collections MoYou has released the Explorer and Suki Collections remain my favorites even today.  I hope they keep adding to them forever!

So what did you think? Shockingly bright given that I started out with two very soft neutrals.  I want to use more dreamcatchers in the future since I'm really happy with how this came out.  Thanks so much for reading and see you next post...

Zoya Naturels Nude Spring Nail Art

Hey lacqueristas,

I've been meaning to create the mani I'm sharing with you today for quite sometime.  Essentially as soon as the Zoya Naturels Collection came out I was done.  Nudes.  I love 'em! This is the first time in a while I had to have every color in a Zoya collection.  And of course I had to use all of them  to create some epic nude nail art.  I had a lot of trouble doing so until now when I found a way to let all the colors come out to play together using my Messy Mansion plates.  I hope you like what I came up with!

Lacquer Lockdown - Zoya, Zoya Naturels, Zoya Brigette, Zoya Taylor, Zoya Normani, Zoya Rue, Zoya Chantal, Zoya Odette, Mundo de Unas #2, Mundo de Unas #23, Mundo de Unas #7, Messy Mansion, MM07, nail art, stamping, Cici & Sisi, floral nail art, spring nail art, mother's day nails, diy nail art, easy nail art, cute nail art ideas, roses nail art, rose nails

Mani-louge
Basecoat/Topcoat:  CND Stickey / Essie Matte About You
Base Colors: Zoya Brigette, Taylor, Normani, Rue, Chantal, and Odette
Stamping Polishes: Mundo de Unas #2, #7, and #23
Stamping plate: Messy Mansion MM07 & MM20

Lacquer Lockdown - Zoya, Zoya Naturels, Zoya Brigette, Zoya Taylor, Zoya Normani, Zoya Rue, Zoya Chantal, Zoya Odette, Mundo de Unas #2, Mundo de Unas #23, Mundo de Unas #7, Messy Mansion, MM07, nail art, stamping, Cici & Sisi, floral nail art, spring nail art, mother's day nails, diy nail art, easy nail art, cute nail art ideas, roses nail art, rose nails

So as you can see I really went to town creating this look.  The base is all entirely Taylor which I believe is the lightest color of the six.  For the inner nails I used advanced stamping method and filled in the rose petals using all of the various colors.  For the surrounding nails I wanted to give the feel of a creeping garden and so I stamped on vines and leaves over a gradient that consisted of Taylor, Odette, and Rue.  Then I took everything and mattified it.

Lacquer Lockdown - Zoya, Zoya Naturels, Zoya Brigette, Zoya Taylor, Zoya Normani, Zoya Rue, Zoya Chantal, Zoya Odette, Mundo de Unas #2, Mundo de Unas #23, Mundo de Unas #7, Messy Mansion, MM07, nail art, stamping, Cici & Sisi, floral nail art, spring nail art, mother's day nails, diy nail art, easy nail art, cute nail art ideas, roses nail art, rose nails

I am insanely pleased with how these came out.  I have no glossy pics because I knew from the start I wanted everything here to look matte, slightly aged, and rustic.  What more I even adore how the framing nails look.  The vines and leaves came out fabulously.  So thoughts?  I know this one isn't really very spring/summer but who the heck cares about that stuff anyway!  I'm just creating things I love.  You can find all the polishes I used today here and Messy Mansion plates can be found here. Thanks so much for reading and see you next post!

Neon Mickey Mouse MyOnline Shop Nail Art

Hey Stamperistas,

It's a Disney themed nail art day! All I can hear in my head is, "Hey Mickey you're so fine you're so fine you blow my mind!" I have been planning this mani since I bought the Jr Plates from MyOnline Shop (you can read about it here).   Plate 05 is wildly innovative and different from any plate I've seen that's themed around Mickey Mouse ever. If you remember it was also the first plate I used from the new collection for my one of my Valentine's Day mani's (here).  Today I did something a little brighter with a punch for spring. I hope you'll like it...

It can basically be said that I am never far from my Orly Baked Collection these days in case you hadn't noticed.  I find myself wondering how I would have pulled off some of the exuberant mani's I've done lately without this collection.  The colors are so intense! Orly Neon Heat was a no brainer, but what you may not know is all the colors of the accent peace sign nails are from the Baked Collection as well except the blue and yellow.  Love love love these polish! What took me by surprise was Zoya Thandie.  This orange is so milky and bright.  The formulation is killer.  I love it when polishes play together like this!

The Jr plates - fast becoming a dear place in my heart.  I have every single one of them released so far.  They are of superb quality and every time I pick one up a get inspired to create something.  I really hope you liked today's art. You can find the Jr plates here on MyOnline Shop.  They retail for $7.50 USD per plate, but if you buy a bundle they will cost $7 per plate.  Sorry its slowed down a little here.  I'm exhausted because of work.  I have so many backlogged mani's to share and a epic giveaway coming soon since I've hit a few milestones and I'm quickly approaching another ;)  Stay tuned and thanks for reading.  I'll see you next post...

Halloween 2013: Haunted Graveyard feat Bunny Nails HD-C & HD-D Plates

Hey lacquer ladies,

I have been sick with a vicious cold for the last 1.5 weeks. Lesson of the month:  I probably shouldn't have decided to get a flu shot at the same time I was coming down with what was likely a viral illness the result has been nothing short of horrible.  I'm a bit peeved at myself I basically got sick and then ramped my immune system into overdrive with that shot.  Sweet baby J.  Nevertheless we carry onward and upward.  So I know I was super excited to discuss those Bunny Nails plates with you guys when they first released and you must be thinking are you gonna use them?  The answer is hell yes Imma use them!  I failed at this many so many times before I could get it to look even close to what I wanted which was sorta an algamation of Halloween themes much like the plates i.e. bats, spiders, and creepy old ladies flying at the moon.  It's not perfect but I'm pleased with it.

The gradient is the only part that came effortlessly everything else was so tough especially the accent nail because I couldn't get the spiders to creep over the way I wanted them too.  Lol disastrous! In any case I wanted to see how this looked matte as well.

So thoughts? Do you like it better matte or shiny? I think it might be matte for me since I hardly use my matte topcoat that much but when I do it's always love btw I'm using Essie's Matte About You Topcoat here.  It's the only one I've ever used and it works well.  I'd like to try Manglaze's as well though when I pick up some of their polishes.  Anyhoo, I've got a few more to show you before Halloween slips away as all things must.  Thanks for reading and I'll see you next post!

Rainbows and Stripes

Hiya polished prisoners,

Happy Saturday!  I'm exhausted it has been such a long week for this warden of the polish arena.  I have so much art to catch up on as well!  I'm in the throws of a deep and obsessive love with holographics right now.  It's killing me thinking of ways to wear them and ways to create cool art around them.  I looked at the last few polishes I have bought and most of them are holos! Ugh.  Wait why am I talking about this?  Today I'm not even featuring holo polish on the blog.  Okay back on track.  Today I'm putting up the second challenge of my nail art for March.  If you recall the challenges this one was for stripes.  I had a lot of fun creating around this concept because I like all kinds of stripes and though hee this could be so fun! So without further ado onto the art....

This is cool huh?  I tried a laser effect like this once before last summer and it turned out horribly :(  I think because I didn't press the tape down hard enough and the color choice for the top was wrong so I'm glad this one came out so well though I did have my doubts.  I can definitely say my nail art these days is slowly improving.  I want to keep working on my freehand technique as well!  Are there aspects of your nail art that you want to improve?  Thanks for reading and see you next post! Toodles...

NOT An Ugly Sweater: Zoya Ziv and Wednesday feat Nailz Craze

Hiya polished prisoners,

Happy 2013! It's my first post of the New Year and I thought I'd start off with my favorite color family - blue greens.  I coveted Zoya Wednesday for so long you would think something was wrong with me.  I kept looking but never buying and then when they did the Zoya Box promotions I took my chance to snatch it up.  Then of course its warmed my tray of wonders until today.  I also have the privilege of being friends with one of the kindest and most sincere women I know Vicky of Boombastic Nails who sent me Zoya Ziv as part of a Christmas package.  Thanks you hunny bunny!  So together Ziv and Wednesday decided to create some magic ;)

Seriously this manicure was effortless - well almost.  I will admit I found the formula on
Wednesday to be borderline for me. A bit too thick for my liking and yet not quite so thick that I couldn't manage.  Ziv was flawless flawless flawless.  Literally the perfect gold shimmer polish.  The Nailz Craze plate I used is the newest "Russian" plate it has little dolls and sweaters etc and is very cute.  I will say though the bottom portion of the sweater patten did not pick up as well as I would have liked even using a Konad Special polish so that was a little disappointing, but otherwise I love everything about this image and the plate as well.  One thing I will say about Nailz Craze is she always always has images that are the perfect oversize size.  Long nails or short she will have you covered!

So thoughts?  Not bad for the start of the New Year eh?  I'm looking forward to trying out my other Zoya polishes and I also happened to have seen swatches of the new spring line and bottle shots of their new Pixie Dust textured matte polishes.  They look brilliant!  Anyhoo thanks for reading and see you next post!  Toodles...

Ring-a-ding-ding 2013..On Sundays I Stamp!

Hello polished prisoners,

I hope everyone has been well and enjoying the holiday season.  It's that time of year everyone is all a-flutter with excitement for the new year.  Lol as I read that back I realized it sounded as though I wasn't and to be honest I'm not sure.  Twenty twelve was supposed to be my year of triumph yet the heavens rained endless mental and physical challenges on me throughout the year culminating in a personal coup d'etat of epic proportions.  Well I'm still alive and I'm grateful, but I am earnestly hoping for a more sedate year ahead.  Ahem anyway let's onto the art...

Today's challenge was anything New Years and celebratory related.  In my mind this immediately meant the use of holographics...lots and lots of them.  Thus I instantly reached for my Zoya Ornates and my Color Club Holo Hues. Mmmmm donuts ahem I meant holo's....

Holo-llejah!  Lol :)  Capturing holos is so maddeningly difficult but look at all that fire!

How do you ladies feel about the New Year - excited, fatigued, apathetic?  I'd love to know really and yes I'm still stuck like glue on these Sugar Bubbles plates.  They are so so good!  They and many other plates (ahem Apipila) did not get nearly enough love this holiday season luckily Christmas time comes again and again oh and for me also in July.  So here we are.  I plan to do a few more holiday mani's before wrapping it up for the year moving onto some different nail art and I still have that Sugar Bubbles review on the back burner.  I probably won't do any kind of summation of my must have's but who knows.  Lol I sound so noncommittal please forgive me my world is a bit in flux right now so I'm trying to wrap things up before insanity ensues oh and make it to the post office (ugh holiday hours)  >_< Thanks for reading as always and I'll see you next post!  Toodles

Snowstorm Ahead...On Sundays I Stamp!

Happy Sunday fellow prisoners,

Is it just me or are the days going by faster? Not a bad thing but it means things can sneak up on you. But this is a season for that though...carols, shopping, upping your OCD meds, you know the usual... ;); Lol well today I have another entry for my Adventures in Stamping challenge. This weeks' theme is Winter Themed. I wanted to do a play on this challenge but I lost the sun and wifi. Honestly I've been holding back on doing something blue and sparkly for a while now but today I got an odd feeling of wanting to capture something different.

I'm actually not very happy with how this mani turned out.    I wasn't at home and missing some tools so it didn't turn out quite how I'd envisioned it but its pretty in its own way. So thoughts? Berry was a odd color to do a snow storm over, but I love the unconventional effect it created. I think I'll have to give this another go later in the month :) Thanks for reading and see you next post! Toodles...

I am but I also have quite a bit of work coming up so things are gonna be hectic.  Well it is the holidays so I expect that.  In any event did you know a storm is coming?  Lightening strikes, moonlit sprinkles, and sunshowers ahead so beware and tuck all friable parts out of sight!

One of my favorite instagramers Storms and Stars was having a little contest with the theme storms and stars ;)  Initially, I had so many ideas but I loved the concept of starry showers and lightening the most and decided to go with that theme.  This one was actually another mani that was quite a bit of work but for several reasons including base complexity, stamp placement, and overall effect.  I've been told now for the umteenth time that I'm OCD and today I'd finally have to agree.  I will admit I couldn't settle well on this one and it took me a while to figure out what I wanted, but I love the final picture.

What do you ladies think?  One thing that bugged me is that I realized I don't have any plates with an image of the sun except for my BM01 plate and I have a lot of plates!  I would think the sun would be a common kind of image to put on a plate but for some reason it's not prevalent at least not in my collection.  Maybe I should buy more plates ;) ;)  Lol trust me when I say that's not it at all!  I already have too many and more coming.  I need to finish my stamping catalog one of these days and get that page up so you all can check it out.  In any event thank you so much for reading stay tuned for more fun!  Toodles...

What's a Jewel To Do? On Sundays I Stamp!

Hiya lacquer ladies,

I hope your weekends are going well!  I've got a bit of news on my end as I've recently joined a nail art interest group called Adventures in Stamping - yay! I'm sure several of you have heard of it or are participants yourself.  We take a theme every week and then create nail art around it using stamping of one kind or another.  I love this concept so much and it's a great way to expand out on ideas, meet other lacquer ladies, and share helpful tips and cool techniques.  This means every Sunday I'll become a tramp, a stamp tramp that is (wink wink).  Lord save us from the Jezebels hahaha! Now onto the art...

The theme for this week is Precious Stones, i.e. designing around the concept of precious stones or using jewel tones.  This concept for me was oddly easy.  My birthday is right around the corner (August 1) and my birthstone, peridot, has been on my mind quite a bit lately as I've been thinking of buying a pair of solitaire earrings in the stone.  I will admit peridot is a tough color to pull off.  It just doesn't have that "classic" appeal I that I so love in stones such as pearls or sapphires (at least not IMO).  Nevertheless, I have endeavored to embrace myself and in so doing the stone of my birth lol.

Lacquer Lockdown - LLDBHB, peridot, green, leopard print, zebra print, grid print, bling, rhinestones, safari nails, lace print nails, rhinestone nails, stamping, Cheeky plates, Shany plates, Konad
Look at all this bling! Well it's my birthday stone so I'll bling as I want to...
I started by taping off my nails at a diagonal and painting with Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in Ivy League for the majority of my nails.  The accents are painted with Zoya's Jules and Butter London's Tart With A Heart.  What I love about TWAH is that it has so many small flecks of iridescent glitter including those that throw back a peridot colored green which made it perfect for the theme.

I love the effect of TWAH layered under Ivy League! Green and gold is one of my favorite combinations.
Next I stamped on lace, leopard, zebra, and grid accents using Konad Special Polish in black from plates SH21, M57, CH11 respectively.

Lacquer Lockdown - CH11, SH21, M57, Shany 2012 plates, Cheeky Nail Art Plates, Konad, stamping
CH11, SH21, and M57 plates
I added several pearls, microbeads, and yellow, clear, and green colored rhinestones to each stamping, and I also used my LA Colors nail art stripper in gold glitter to add little accents throughout each nail.

Lol I promise not all of my mani's are blinging, but I mean come on Shelly it's precious stones themed.  How could I NOT bling it up?!?
So what do you think? I wonder if I hadn't said that my stone was peridot you would have known anyway? Do tell because I really would like to know.  In any event this was so fun I can't wait to see what next week's theme is!  Thanks for reading and see you next post! Toodles!

Polish Disappointment and Zoya Kotari

Ugh I'm so disappointed right now.  I had been planning all day to purchase some very cool polishes from Lynderella during one of her blog sales, but I got the time wrong thinking it started at 7pm EST and missed the window by a few minutes even though I'd timed myself to get in 10 or 15 minutes before the sale started and then make my list and send it out.  It was all sold out when I sent my order at 7pm!  I wanted to cry tears of bloody red polish!  Why is my life always like this? I miss things within minutes.  I'm busy too so it's hard to time for these things.  For most people this would have been a good time to buy because it's post work, but this little lacquerhead keeps a very funky schedule - alas!  Hopefully I'll still be able to get what I wanted during the next sale <--- forced optimism - lol. Darnit I wanted those polishes!

Onto something that's anything but disappointing - a rare non-nail art layering post.  Say what?!? Non nail art?  Who's blog is this?  I know it's rare for me not to break out the paints, brushes, stamps, etc but occasionally when pressed for time or just wanting to simplify my routine I will do layerings.  I call them my nail-art off days. Unfortunately, I somehow lost the pictures of the layering so I'll have to do it again but for now the incomprehensibly lovely Zoya Kotari.
