Elevation Polish Streets of Japan Collection Swatches & Nail Art

Hey varnished vixens,

Its that time again when my heart sings with joy for the latest and greatest from Elevation Polish!  I usually like to have the post up sooner but had a small delay with my parcel so I only had a few days to swatch and create art.  Fortunately the collection in question namely the Streets of Japan was so inspired and so beautiful that it felt very easy to think of at least 10, 000 ideas for the polishes. Lol that was actually the problem trying to tone myself down and create a single look.  I'll tell you a little secret because I have a very hard time deciding on how to best showcase my EvPs more often than not I will create multiple nail arts for a given polis hand post the one I like best.  Yup I'm officially crazy lolol don't you dare call the paddy wagon! Now let's take a look at  the goods ;)

Hama Rikyu Gardens

A deep gray colored creme with a slight amount of holo pigment.  Formula on this one is flawless eased on in 2 solid coats without and ounce of work on my part.  This one dries to a waxy finish but is pictured here with one coat of topcoat.  You all know I did a good gray and Lulu makes a lot of good ones.  Gray makes my skin glow its like the most flattering neutral ever on me next to a blush nude!

The holo here is really soft as I said  this is direct light under my Ott Light and its really slight as you can see.

Basecoat/Topcoat:  CND Stickey / Sally Hansen Diamond Flash

Stamping plates: MoYou London Tourist 11 and Pet'la Plate Shenanigans
Accent: 2.5mm gold studs from Born Pretty

Stay Behind Catch A Wave

Is a classic standout glitter topper in my collection and now if you don't own it you can go and get it and frankly you should!  Composed of all shades of blue and green glitter rounds with a smattering of gold and silver round glitters in a shimmering glistening clear base of righteousness!  Ahem.  You need this polish possibly you need backups ;)  Pictured here over another Elevation Polish gradient across 3 different collections with a generous layer of topcoat which is necessary for smoothing down.

Btw I forgot to mention but this but you don't fish with SBCAW.  This polish is loaded like a Philly cheesesteak.  You immerse yourself for that reason I recommend dabbing rather than sweeping on this polish.

Gradient: Elevation Polish Wendell Sea, Ceurnos del Paine, Theo Wirth Parkway
Stamping polish:  Mundo de Unas Navy (3)
Stamping plates: MoYou London Suki 05
Accent: 2.0mm pearls ebay, 2mm seashells Winstonia Store

Btw in case you are wondering yeah I created nail art for this polish but I ended up not liking it after looking at the photos so I will have to resist this one ;)

Hitsujiyama Park

Soft subtle pink creme with pink shimmer and sparse holo.  I have no doubt the sakura, cherry blossoms for the non Japanese laymen, were glorious to behold.  Because I live in DC I have a serious weakness for cherry blossoms and every spring I float through the world in a cloud of pink and white.  The polish itself is opaque in 2 coats and dries down to a nice shine but I put one coat of topcoat on here.

Saran Wrap Accent: Elevation Polish Pa'ako, Sunset Amongst the Palms, Froze Over (?), Hidden Falls and Wet N Wild White Creme
Stamping polish:  Mundo de Unas Red
Stamping plates: Pet'la Rising Sun
Accent: 2.0mm pearls ebay

Ended up channeling a pink sea for this one courtesy of my Petla plate.  My koi ened up being a little more subtle than I wanted but I do love how  this came out.

Finally I mattified it the holo is really soft so I didn't feel too guilty about doing so though normally I won't touch a holo with matte topcoat with a ten foot pole.  I do like the matte version better than the gloss though.

Evening Walk In The Cherry Blossoms (Special Edition)

This one is not actually an "Elevation Polish" rather its Glitter Sheep, a frankener friend of Lulu's, for Elevation Polish.  A shimmering iridescent glitter polish packed with fuschia holographic stars and daisies along with purple, blue and iridescent glitters.  This polish is glorious and will only hang around EvP for 3 months so if you're going to get it get it now.  I choose to wear this over navy undies from American Apparel.  I will readily admit I don't really like flower glitter because they are prone to lifting BUT I really really love this polish!  Its gorgeous and only required 1 layer to over my base to reach opacity.  Some fishing about for the daisy's is required.

Icho Namiki

Neon yellow black flecked creme.  It reminds me of the a speckled robins egg on crack!  I love it!! The formula is amazing especially for a yellow neon.  Instead of the usual chalky streaks I encounter with neon yellows this one went on so smooth like butter and was opaque in 2 coats over white.  The polish is super duper bright and even glows in the dark!   This one is probably my favorite of the entire collection!  I also forgot to mention it dries to a very high gloss though I did apply topcoat for that extra shine.

I'm gonna apologize in advance for the black light photo.  I wanted to capture the glowy in the dark quality of this polish but my camera really refused to focus properly under the black light :/  This is like strike number 15 for this camera seriously.  Its so old its time for an upgrade which will be happening in July.

I tribalized this polish! You know I love a good neon and this one is insane and deserving of a tribal life ;)

Camera did a little better when there was less glow to focus on.  I love love love how this came out!

Shinjuku Golden Gai

A hot neon pinky blood orange polish perfect for heating up the summer hence the reason I paired it with Icho above.  It also has this awesome duochrome shift from purple to blue that capture really well in my photos.  I did not put undies under this one and really didn't have to since it popped all on its ownsome.  Opaque in 2 coats and dries down glossy but pictured here with a a single layer of topcoat cause I really love the extra shine factor :)

The shift on this is so incredible! Its been a while since I've had a duochrome that is so apparent without any little tricks.  You know what I'm talking about with water photography etc.  The formula on this one too was just flawless.  Because I chose to push these two polishes together nail art wise I will be resisting this one again for its own time in the spotlight.

So here we are at the end of the Streets of Japan Collection.  I have to admit this feels really different from prior Elevation Polish Collections in a really cool way.  I can tell Lulu is really experimenting and adding all kind of new cool things to the line up - flakies, glow in the darks, shaped glitters etc.  In short something here for everyone.  This collection releases tonight May 7th at 9PM CST on the Elevation Polish website.  Polishes will retail from $8-12 USD + shipping.

I  would also like to take a moment to remind everyone that Elevation Polish will be selling a special polish to benefit victims of the tragedy in Nepal called Yeti's Healing Vibes.  This polish is available until the 27th of May and will retail for $12 of which $10 goes toward the American Himalayan Foundation which is aiding in earthquake relief efforts  Please consider purchasing a polish since every dollar can make a world of difference for victims in Nepal!  You can read more about Yeti's Healing Vibes here.  Thanks for reading and I'll see you next post...
