B. Loves Plates Nail Art Stamping Plates Review

Hey stamperistas,

As the constantly hot stamping press continues to sizzle today I have a newer indie brand to share with you today straight out of Poland!  Yup today we're going to be looking at some plates from B Loves Plates.  You may recall the prior post I did on this brand last October and  if not you can read it here.   I honestly don't recall how I discovered this brand though I am constantly stalking plates because well I'm a plate stalker lol.  In any case this review will be broken up in parts as usual so feel free to scan through and please don't forget to leave some feedback or questions you may have. Now let's get started!

B Loves Plates

This Polish brand, the only that I know of in fact, is run by the sweet Anna who is also a bit of a stamping nail art fanatic.  She has her own blog B For Beautiful Nails as features  some lovely nail art and photos by Anna herself.  To date Anna has created 3 different plates based loosely around various themes.  Her branding and love of color is easily recognizable once you take a look at her plates.  What's clear is that you can see her love of stamping shines through her product.  Today I'll be reviewing 2 of the 3 plates that are available for purchase.  You can also keep up to date with the latest and greatest from Anna by following her along her other social media :)

The Plates

As I said I'll be looking at 2 of the 3 plates today - Flower Power and Mind Blown.  These plates are big - think Fab Ur Nails & UberChic size.   In fact you get a whopping 21 full sized nail images per plate!  Pretty generous huh? This means you are getting more images per plate than you would with smaller rectangular plates.  Each plate measures roughly - 14.6 x 8.6 cm length by width so they will fit any holders you have for similar sized plates.

Image Size Comparison

The image size on B Loves plates full size nail images mesure 2.0 x 1.5 cm length by width which I consider to be standard sizing for plates.  As usual I have listed some similar sized brands below for comparision, but  if you are interested in a broader comparison across many brands you can click here to view a comprehensive chart I created with measurements from most brands of stamping plates.  I just added new measurements today so there are even more brands listed!

Bunny Nails HD B: 2.5 x 2.0 cm
Cici & Sisi: 2.0 x 1.5 cm
Fab Ur Nails FUN 14: 2.2 x 1.7 cm
Messy Mansion: 2.3 x 1.8 cm
MoYou London Pro (Non-XL): 1.5 x 1.3 cm
MoYou London Pro (XL):  2.2 x 1.6 cm
MyOnline Shop MJVIII: 2.2 x 1.7 cm
Pet'la: 2.4 x 2.0 cm
Vivid Lacquer: 2.0 x 2.0 cm

As with all my reviews I use Wet N' Wild Black Creme nail polish and my gold standard XL marshmallow stamper from Bunny Nails (4 years old) or as my marshmallow stamper from Magno Nails if I need to get bigger sized images.  I only switch to Konad Special Stamping polish or Mundo de Unas in the event I am unable to pick up an image which I didn't have to do with any of these images.

The reason I choose to stamp with Wet N' Wild Black Creme for my swatches is because it's cheap and readily available.  Furthermore, it is the lowest quality polish I can use for stamping.  What does that mean? It means I don't expect images generated by WnW to have near the clarity of those generated using a polish designated for stamping.  Stamping polishes allow an image to stamp with even more clarity and crispness than regular polish.  Period.  In short if I have a plate that stamps well with WnW polish this is my assurance that indeed the etching on these plates is excellent enough that it can support stamping with a polish that is not meant for that purpose.

Btw I'm watermarking my swatches more consistently now because I have found my swatches posted on various sites with my watermarks removed as if they were someone else's :/  I put a lot of hard work into these reviews and having someone else take credit for that work isn't really something that appeals to me :/

Stamping Polish Comparison

So this is getting to be a bit of a habit for the reviews I post now, but so far I've gotten good feedback about including this section.  If you think it's redundant let me know and I can do away with it.  In this section I demonstrate how well or poorly a plate will stamp depending on the type of stamping polish used.  The truth is I own a lot of different brands of polishes across a host of color ranges. You don't have to, but this section is mostly for those who don't have such a wide access to different polishes as I do.  You will also find regular polishes used here that IMO also stamp very well.  I think you will be able to see from the swatches that the FUN plates stamp excellently across all brands of polishes.

Stamping Polish Key:
WnW = Wet N' Wild Black Creme
WnW FM = Wet N' Wild Fantasy Makers
Konad = Konad Special Stamping Polish in Black Gold

Final Impression

Ok dolls here's the part where I lay it all out on the table ;)  Honestly these plates are very well etched with excellent pickup.  I do think the Mind Blown plate may provide some small difficulty for stampers who aren't used to all the angles that might be required to scrape from to pick up the images.  Its not a big deal it just means you need to adjust the angle at which yo scrape and the pressure with which you scrape over the images. As you can see I got it down after one try :)

In terms of innovation I feel Mind Blown is one of those plates that should have been made ages ago! Its cool and will provide endless endless variations on the theme depending on the colors you use in your mani or nail art.  I love it!  Flower Power offers us a blend of some flowers we've seen before and some new and in my humble opinion needed different ones. In the future I'd like to see even more variation, but for now I'm very pleased with the variety I got in a single plate.

So in short I think Anna did a fantastic job creating these plates.  Btw the branding/logos are brilliant and so colorful they make me happy!  These are the first indie stamping plates out of Poland and I'm giving them a huge thumbs up.  You can currently purchase the Mind Blown and Flower Power plates along with the Geometry plate from her Etsy store (click the link to purchase).  Each plate retails for $15 USD + shipping.  Get all three or go in with a friend to save on shipping!  So that's it. Please don't forget to leave feedback or comments or questions if you have them.  Thanks for reading and I'll see you next post...

These products were sent for my honest review.  For more information please see my Disclosure Policy.

  1. These have been on my wish list for a while. I've also had major problems in the past with images like the ones on mind blown from other makers like hehe & my online shop. But these are the images that I love the most. I hope I can get these to work because they are definitely mind blowing lol.

  2. Also great review I like the polish comparison segment.

  3. Great review, as always, and I'm pretty sure I need the Mind Blown plate! I, for one enjoy the polish comparisons, and just generally how thorough your reviews are. I value your opinions, so thanks for sharing! xx

  4. Thanks. I'll keep including it then! Are there any other polishes you'd like to see compared?

  5. The more you play the better you will get. For plates like those it just takes practice if you aren't used to them :)

  6. I've got all three currently available and I love them all. Ania did a really great job.. I can't wait for her to create some more :)

  7. Aww thanks babe! Sorry for the late reply I suck lol ;) Yes the Mind Blown plate is awesome! Lots of patterns I hadn't seen before. I wonder if I should add more polishes to the comparisons swatches?

  8. Yup I'd love to see what she comes up with next!
